- Start with a note
- stay on the note
- go up a third
- go up a fifth
- go down a second (up a sixth)
- go down a fourth (up a fifth)
- Add embelleshing notes.
- Add the candence, where we terminate. At the cadence, we break out of the pattern. IF the right hand goes down a step, and in the middle of the measure, go up a fourth. The the bass goes down a step, and then another step. This ensures that we get an interval of a fifth (?)
